ABOUT THE EVENT:
Welcome to the 2nd Annual Olivia Medici Memorial 5k/10k Run and 5k Walk. This is a race dedicated to 5 ½ year old, Olivia Medici, who lost her life in November 2006 to an extremely rare, genetic disorder called Sanfilippo (MPS III, type A). All proceeds of the event will directly benefit Duke University Hospital’s Family Support Program in North Carolina (where Olivia was transplanted and lived for six months) and to OHSU/Doernbecher Children’s Hospital (where Olivia’s follow-up care was performed). Last year (our first year), we had a wonderful turnout and raised $16,000 dollars for these special families. We hope you’ll join us again for another amazing event!
